not a slop bowl ("we", "us", "our") is a recipe and meal planning service operated from the United Kingdom.

by accessing or using our service, you agree to these terms. if you do not agree, please do not use the service.
you must be at least 13 years old to use this service. if you are under 18, you confirm you have your parent or guardian's permission. we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. if we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
accounts are created through Google OAuth. we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. you are responsible for the security of your Google account. accounts are personal and non-transferable.
we may limit the number of accounts created from a single network to prevent abuse.
not a slop bowl provides personalised recipe recommendations and meal planning. the service includes:
the service also includes an AI-powered "what can i cook?" feature that parses ingredient input to suggest matching recipes. see section 10 for details on AI features.
paid subscriptions cost £7.99 per month (inclusive of UK VAT). for customers in the European Union, applicable VAT will be added at checkout based on your country of residence. all prices are in British Pounds (GBP).
payments are processed by Stripe. we do not store your payment card details — Stripe handles this securely. by subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.
subscriptions renew automatically each month at the then-current price. you will be charged on the same date each month. by subscribing, you expressly consent to automatic recurring billing until you cancel.
we will give you at least 30 days' notice before any price increase. if you do not agree to the new price, you may cancel before the next billing cycle.
if a payment fails, your account enters a "past due" state. Stripe will retry the charge. if payment cannot be collected, your access will be suspended until the balance is resolved. you can update your payment method via the billing portal.
new users receive a 7-day free trial. during the trial you can unlock 1 personalised recipe per day from the full library. the trial does not automatically convert to a paid subscription — when it expires, your account reverts to the free tier (3 curated recipes).
one trial per person. we reserve the right to modify or discontinue trial offers at any time.
you can cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe billing portal, accessible from your account settings. cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then.
under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the EU Consumer Rights Directive, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase.
by subscribing and requesting immediate access, you expressly consent to the service being provided before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period. you acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully provided during that period. if you cancel within 14 days, you may be entitled to a proportionate refund for the unused portion.
we do not routinely offer refunds for unused portions of a billing period after the 14-day withdrawal period. statutory rights under UK and EU consumer law are not affected.
you may permanently delete your account at any time from your account settings. this cancels any active subscription, removes your data from our database, and deletes your authentication identity. this action is irreversible. see our privacy policy for details on data deletion.
under the EU Digital Content Directive (2019/770), the service will conform to the description provided in these terms and meet reasonable quality expectations for a service of this type. we will provide updates necessary to maintain conformity for the duration of your subscription.
if the service does not conform, you may request that we bring it into conformity. if we cannot do so within a reasonable time, you may request a proportionate price reduction or terminate the contract and receive a refund for any pre-paid period.
if we make changes to the service beyond what is needed for conformity, we will inform you in advance. if the change negatively affects your access to the service, you may terminate your subscription within 30 days and receive a proportionate refund.

we may impose rate limits to protect the service. violation of these terms may result in suspension or termination of your account.
our "what can i cook?" feature uses artificial intelligence (provided by a third-party AI service) to parse your ingredient input and match recipes. when you use this feature:
AI-powered features are provided as a convenience. we do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated suggestions. always check recipes for ingredients that may affect allergies or dietary restrictions.
all recipe content, images, text, nutritional information, and editorial material is owned by or licensed to not a slop bowl. you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access this content for personal, non-commercial use only.
you may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.
nutritional information (calories, macros, ingredient lists) is provided for informational purposes only and is not intended as medical, dietary, or nutritional advice. calorie and macro calculations are estimates and may vary.
this service does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making significant dietary changes.
dietary tags (e.g., vegan, gluten-free) are algorithmically classified and may contain errors. always check the full ingredient list for allergens and dietary suitability. we are not responsible for adverse reactions to recipes.
the service relies on the following third-party providers:
we are not responsible for the availability, performance, or terms of third-party services. your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
to the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or profits.
nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for:
your statutory rights as a consumer under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, the EU Digital Content Directive, or other applicable consumer protection laws are not affected.
these terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. we will try to resolve disputes informally first — please contact us at posteritylabsportcos_enquiries@proton.me.
if you are an EU consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence. nothing in these terms restricts your right to do so.
if you are a US resident, you agree that any disputes not resolved informally will be resolved through binding individual arbitration, except for claims that qualify for small claims court. you waive the right to participate in class actions or class-wide arbitration.
we may update, modify, or discontinue features of the service at any time. for material changes that negatively affect your use:
we may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, with notice where practicable. you may terminate at any time by cancelling your subscription and/or deleting your account.
sections on intellectual property, limitation of liability, dispute resolution, and any accrued rights survive termination.
we may update these terms from time to time. material changes will be communicated via the email associated with your account at least 30 days before taking effect. continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. if you disagree with the changes, you may cancel your subscription before they take effect.
